Joey Hunter is the Director of Security, Safety and Emergency Preparedness with San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital. Hunter has 33 years of experience working alongside the executive teams of many large healthcare corporations. His areas of expertise include leadership, planning, operations management, emergency response, violence in the workplace and mentoring others. In December 2021, Hunter was appointed to the Bureau of Security Industry Services Review Board by California Governor Gavin Newsom. Hunter’s credits include being named by Campus Security Magazine as a finalist for Healthcare Security Director of the Year, for 2022, being profiled in Security Magazine’s 2020 SECURITY 500 rankings report, and being awarded both a senate and assembly award in 2016 for his response to the San Bernardino Terrorism Incident. Joey Hunter currently serves on the Bureau of Security Investigative Services – Disciplinary Review Board and the University of California Riverside Executive Leadership Board. Before working in the security industry, Hunter served 8 years in the United States Marine Corps.
