Within the healthcare security sector, as well as countless other sectors where security reflects a broad patient, customer, and employee pool, building a diverse and inclusive security team starts with focusing on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) as any other business strategy. In order to make DEI principles a part of security’s business strategy, security leaders must focus on building inclusive teams diligently, deliberately, and with data to support the efforts. Matt Horace, CSO at Mayo Clinic will explore building an inclusive security team, implementing DEI practices as a business initiative, and learning how to align such successes to overall business goals.
